William "Bill" Alfred Cherry

William A. “Bill” Cherry, Sr., age 71, of Delano passed over peacefully into his eternal home, Sunday, November 19, 2023 at his residence. He was a man of faith and a child of God. Bill proudly served his country as a military veteran his community as a law enforcement officer for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lillie Cherry; son, Kenneth S. Cherry; brother, J. Larry Cherry and sister, Gail Land.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sue Cherry; son, Bill (Dorothy) Cherry, Jr.; grandchildren, Caleb, Siara, Autumn and Malachi Cherry; great grandchildren, Lilliana and Scarlett Cherry; brothers, K. Mike (Mary) Cherry, John (Crystal) Cherry and several nieces and nephews.

Family will welcome friends for visitation Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Etowah with funeral service on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m., interment to immediately follow at Ballplay Baptist Church Cemetery in Old Fort, TN. Brother Jimmy Lewis and Brother Ben Henderson to officiate.
