Rev. Thomas Paul Odum, age 59 of Athens was called home to heaven on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 from Nashville General Hospital.
Thomas was known as a preacher, teacher and friend to all. He encouraged people to serve the Lord. He was loving, kind hearted and his family was his world. He strived to be a man of God.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Odum, Jr. and Grace Lee Odum; brothers, James Edward Odum, III, David Timothy “Timbo” Odum, Mitchell “Mitch” Dean Odum, Kenneth “Ken” Ray Odum; niece, Grace Isabella Guerrero; and sisters, Iva Youlanda (Tim)L Smith and Brendia “Fagan” Lee Odum.
Thomas is survived by his sisters, Bernice Kuykendall (Gary Kuykendall)D, Rachel Odum, Pamela Whittaker (Juan Garcia), Terry Michelle (Jose) Fraire, Tina Marie (Joel) Cruz, Crystal (Noe) Guerrero; brother Phillip Odum; aunt, Jeanette (David)D Hendrix; along with a host of uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 10th, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with a funeral service at 4 PM in the chapel of Poole Funeral Home, Etowah with Rev. Ron Bard officiating. Burial will follow in Sullens Cemetery immediately following the services. Family will serve as pallbearers.
