Randy Dean Smith

Randy Dean Smith, age 71, of New Tazewell, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at UT Hospital in Knoxville.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Randy served his country with honor and dedication. He worked most of his life as an automotive mechanic.

Randy was preceded in death by his biological father, Elmer Wade McClanahan; his adopted parents, Arthur Smith and Lynnie Smith Hobbs; and the stepfather who raised him, Homer Hobbs; and brothers, Howard Smith, and Rocky Smith

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Heather Marie (Smith) Diaz and her husband, William; his grandchildren, Tyler Diaz and wife Sheiann, and Cienna Diaz; and great-grandchildren, Tessa, Tanner, and Traeston Diaz. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard McClanahan, along with extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.
