Nancy Louise Tilley, age 77, of Madisonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Madisonville and the heart of her family.
Nancy was married to her devoted husband, James Lester Tilley, for 60 years. She was the beloved daughter of Martha Stricklan and the late Ernest Stricklan. She was also preceded in death by her cherished grandson, Jaran Moss, and great-granddaughter, Trinity Hannah.
Nancy’s legacy lives on through her loving children: Shannon Tilley and Beth Brent, and Kelly Mayotte and husband Shaun Mayotte. She was a proud grandmother to Adrienne Watson, Phoenix Tilley, Jamie McKee, Alex McKee, Savannah McKee, Scarlett McKee, Tucker James Tilley, and Mikey Brent. Her love extended deeply to her great-grandchildren: Thristian, Truth, Ty, Temperance, Aran, Delilah, Dani, Ayden, Braylen, Aubrey, Jocelyn, Jax, Alexis, Megan, Walker, Colt, Willow, and Haven.
Special mention is given to Shawn Griffith and Cash Hannah, who showed her great respect and kindness over the years.
Also mentioned is Karen Smith.
She is also survived by her siblings: Sam (Rena) Stricklan, Brenda and Bob White, Donna and Roy Leslie, Doug (Teresa) Stricklan, Connie and JR Cagle, Barbie and Victor Bolt, Ricky and Jennie Stricklan, and Danny and Debbie Stricklan. Nancy had many nieces and nephews, too numerous to name.
Nancy will be remembered for her strength, her straightforward nature, and the lasting memories she leaves behind with those who knew her. She said what she meant, and she meant what she said. That’s how she’d want to be remembered.
There are no pending arrangements at this time for Mrs. Tilley. The Staff at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Etowah send their condolences to the family and friends.
