Marvin Luther McDaniel

Marvin Luther “Jack” McDaniel Jan. 28th, 1926 – May 10th, 2025 age 99. A native of Etowah, he was the son of Melvin Henry McDaniel and Nellie Sue (McDonald) McDaniel. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum with 42 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, (U.S. Army) ending his service as a military policeman assigned to the 82nd Airborne and was part of the occupation of Berlin. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Etowah.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 73 years, Velma Imogene “Jean” (Creasman) McDaniel, sisters Gladys McDaniel, Ozella Pitner, Sue Sunderland Slade, Ava (McDaniel) Robinson, and brother Glenn McDaniel.

He is survived by sons Michael McDaniel (Tammy) and Barry McDaniel (Margaret), and daughter Kimberly McDaniel. Sisters, Jo Franklin, Darlene McEwen, and Wanda Arrington. Granddaughters Krissy Parker (Willis), Robyn Fite, Tamara Langston and Jasmine Fite. Great grandchildren Kaile Masingale (Drew), Macy Mason (Riley), Addie Parker, Kiara Fite, Aysiah Fite-Clements, Jaden Fite, Alexandra Fite-Clements and Kailani Fite. Great- great grandchildren Maxxon Masingale, Oakley Mason, Lila Fite-Cesar, Phoenix Fite-Cesar and Nova Fite-Clements. Other family and friends.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at Etowah Cemetery on Thursday May 15th, 2025 at 11:00AM. Special thanks to all the staff and caregivers at Starr Regional Health and Rehab, (current and former), as well as Caris Hospice and Hearth Health (Hospice).

In lieu of flowers- the family asks donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
