Loyd Carroll Burns

Loyd Carroll Burns, a resident of Athens, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born and lived in the New Zion Community most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clovia Upton; parents, Jewell H. and Frank A. Burns.

He is survived by step-son, Michael Upton; sisters, Agnes Eaton, Eddie Mae Jack, and Betty Buchanan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Loyd was employed by several local manufacturing companies and the McMinn Highway Department. He was also employed at Dakota Place when he retired. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and neighbors.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Conasauga Cemetery, east of Etowah.
