Linda Sue Spurgeon

 Linda Spurgeon, age 70 of Athens, departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2019 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a member of Wesleyanna United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, yardselling , and spending time with her family and friends.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Christine Plemons Morrow; sons, Adam, Michael, and Gary Bowers; and brothers, Bobby, Ronnie, and Mark Morrow.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Spurgeon of Athens; children, Scottie (Jackie) Bowers of Etowah, Matthew(Amy) Bowers, of Calhoun, Georgia, Tammy(Tim) Barker of Athens, and Christopher(Wendy) Clute of Riceville; grandchildren, Megan Bowers, Ethan Barker, Austin Barker, Heath Barker, Caleb Clute, and Chase Clute; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Beth Barker and Evie Quinn Barker; sisters, Joyce(J.D.) Miller of Englewood, Jeanette (Russell) Levine of Athens, and Mary Morrow of Etowah; brother, David(Judy) Morrow of Arkansas and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M.  Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Green Hill Cemetery with Brother Johnny Raper officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1-2P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
