Lesley Paul Shankle

Lesley "Paul" Shankle, 58, of Etowah, TN passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Paul, worked construction all his life and was multi-certified in carpentry, welding, and millwright. He was currently employed with Homer's Home Improvement, whom he'd worked with for many years. He loved being in the outdoors, especially the mountains and Hiwassee River.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Retha and Bob Shankle, his sister Grace Locke, brother Timmy Shankle, and nephew Free Martin.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas and Jordan Shankle; granddaughter, Cassiel Fernandez-Shankle, and daughter, Leslie Shankle-Frye, and their mother Lanetta Frye; siblings, Denise "Zebbie" and David Discepoli, Bob and Yvonne Shankle, Kem and the late Rickey Taylor, and Deidre and Patrick Ensley. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews; Jessi Brown, Tabitha Conner, Nicki Curtis, Greg Discepoli, Joseph Shankle, Bobby Shankle, Kyle Shankle, Aaron Shankle, Anna Mae Shankle, K.C. Taylor and many great-nieces and nephews, he will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.

The family wishes to extend thanks to his beloved friend, Homer "Johnny" Taylor, who always cared for him like family.

The family will have a memorial service on Paul's birthday, December 28, 2025, at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Poole Funeral in Etowah, TN and invites all family and friends to attend.
