James Ellis Sloan, Jr.

 James E Sloan, Jr of Tellico Plains, departed this life on Monday, February 25, 2019 at his Florida residence.  He was a native and resident of Florida before moving to Monroe County in 1982. Jim was a well-known contractor serving as an instructor working overseas and was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Jewell McCroan; and his father and step mother, James Ellis Sloan, Sr. and Audrey Sloan.

He is survived by a host of close friends and extended family

 A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Home in Etowah with military honors to follow.
