Dennis Ray Johnson, Sr.

Dennis Ray Johnson Sr. age 59, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home in Etowah. He enjoyed being with his family. He was a hard working old school truck driver until he was disabled in a trucking accident in June 2000. He was a dedicated husband and father. Dennis valued what mattered most, his family and friends.

Preceded in death by mother, Wanda Womac; uncle, Fred Malone; uncle, Pastor Leon DeVine and several other aunts and uncles.

Survived by wife of 44 years, Julie “Diane” Johnson of Etowah; son, Dennis (Katie) Johnson Jr. of Riceville; granddaughter, Kylie Johnson of Riceville; sisters, Toni West and Lisa Brooks of Etowah; brother, Dewayne Johnson of Niota; several nieces, nephews and many close friends.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Serenity Funeral Home with Donna DeVine officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

A private family interment Service will follow at a later date.
