Brenda Gail Tallent

Brenda Tallent, 71, of Athens, TN, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at her home. She loved to work in her flowers, especially roses. She was a great artist, very creative, specializing in pencil drawings. Brenda attended Clay Hill Baptist Church.

Brenda was preceded in death by parents, Arlin “Cap” and Addie Hammonds; brother, Jeral D. Hammonds; daughter, Dana Lee Murphy; sisters, Barbara Teague and Alma “Lou” Lombardi; nephews, Randy Teague and Marty Price.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Amber (Floyd) Hughes of Tellico; grandchildren, J.J. Hughes of Sweetwater, Nathan (Chelsea) Hughes of Maryville, Heidi Hughes of Maryville; sisters, Alberta (Art) Rogers of Athens, Terry (Billy) Nesmith of Cleveland and Pauline (Wendell) Price of Athens; 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., funeral services will follow in the Chapel with Pastor Craig Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Memory Gardens.
